A Sailor's DrEaM...

A drip of a rogue wave
That blew along the breeze
Found the tip of an old face
And awoke the sailor’s dream
An unrelenting wind and rain
From a distant mountain peak
Soothed abused bones from pain
As he made it to his feet
A stormy intuition
Calmly settled in his throat
As an ocean reminisced and
Swayed beneath the boat
A lightning crashed a wooden gash
The boat it screamed and croaked
Colliding earth with whips and glass
The sailor calmly lit a smoke
It was time and he was sure
To labor through the final shift
His legs were weak his back was sore
He found a ghost in sandy sift
A crystal tear escaped his eye
And cut across his cheek
A flock of birds they swarmed the sky
And preyed upon the leak

He stepped onto the plank
Never feeling so alive
The vessel slowly rocked and sank
He took his final, lonely dive.
