***For
the sake of this essay, I will be using the word ‘God’ to mean
‘Your refundable ticket towards something more meaningful in life'’. For today,
it can be defined as simply as ‘Something
bigger than you and me’.
We
have to remember that Words are just that, words.
They are squiggly
lines. Over time, the actual
thing we are labeling
with a word gets lost in translation, conditioned in our mind to be
something it is not or
over-used and under-valued. And, this word -
“God” -
is definitely not an exception to the rule.
The
weight this word carries has to be unburdened, the definition
rediscovered. It’s too vast of an idea for one person to claim
they have the ability to explain it clearly.
The
main reason I can speak so freely about ‘something bigger than me’
is because of the trillions of series of events that led to me being
born as a human being on Planet Earth. That’s hundreds of
thousands of years of my ancestors continuing the family line and
avoiding death, war and
disease. That’s a lot of
sex!
I
have come to the conclusion that there is something bigger than
myself. And, I seek to discover exactly what that means.***
I believe that God has made himself available to us in the most magnificent way possible.
This
idea of something bigger will never forcefully enter into the free
space of your mind without permission. You can feel free to live
your entire life in the physical world, seeking desires and
fulfilling your ego. There isn’t anything that is going to force
you into believing in a ‘higher realm’ or a ‘spirit world’.
God
has an open door policy. ‘He’ is patiently waiting for you to ask Him to show you ‘something
more’ with no expectations and incredible patience. The higher
realm understands what you are going through and is
compassionate about the experiences, the pain and the struggles you
are facing.
There
is no goal and there is no map. Finding God is a personal, unique
experience for each individual. That being said, I believe I can
assist you in your journey.
The
way to find God – to find something more – is to constantly
answer the question, “Why?”. Why am I here? Where did I
come from? Where am I going? If we want to ‘find God’, we must
be willing to consider the reason behind all of the things that are
happening in our lives. We must seek to discover the ‘why’.
Therefore,
the
journey to God is a journey of knowledge and truth. Knowledge and
truth are hidden throughout life’s
lessons in
paradoxes
and metaphors. The philosopherer, Lao
Tzu, used the simplest of metaphors to describe his experience with
God; Water.
“Be
as water. Water is soft and yielding. Yet, water can carve
canyons.” The metaphor that water holds is endless if you consider
the true nature of this clear, thirst quenching liquid.
All
of these
truths
are passed down from generation to generation through the wisdom of
age. The
truth about nature and God holds firm throughout time. A
wise, old intuition can tell you the truth with a clear vision as if
they’d stake their life on the claim. If
the wise man seems as if he ‘just knows', well, it’s because he does.
We
have to be courageous in our ability to distinguish the truth.
We
find God, and the reasons ‘why’, through the lessons we learn.
These
lessons are endless. They come from the
experiences we go through in life. These are important emotional
experiences
and they are happening to us for a specific reason.
It
is a mystery for a
reason, designed to unfold over the course of your existence. It’s
not supposed to be easy to find God. As you begin, the
journey to God becomes an incredible web of discovery. As you learn
and grow, life continues to amaze you with new, mind-blowing
information and coincidences.
You
can see God in the beauty of a sunset. Or, in the sparkling eyes of
a loved one as you lean in for a life changing kiss. You can feel
God after an intense workout, through meditation
or during an orgasm.
You
can see how God works in the discoveries we’ve made in Science and
Physics. What is happening in the invisible world of atoms and
molecules lets us know that there is way more than our own eyes can
see. The
machine of the universe is constantly running at high speeds in each
moment behind
the scenes.
It’s happening all around you.
The
physical world we live in can almost be considered an illusion to
what is actually going on with energy, light, DNA, love, electrons
and the ‘spirit world’. There is more than meets the eye. What
we see with our eyes is beautiful. What we can’t see is amazing.
This
is a truth that I’ve discovered about God. He’s placed these
secrets inside of seemingly normal objects and allowed us the tools
to discover how they work, including Himself.
Technology
is indistinguishable from magic.
The
speed of light is unfathomable. The size of the universe is immense.
Just
think about
all of the series of events that led to a group of people coming
together with a few instruments and deciding to make music. Then,
consider what it took for that music to find your ears. At
last, consider
how that song makes you feel,
and
then try to explain to me how life isn’t absolutely mesmerizing.
The
universe is an
open space for us to thrive and grow. We have been blessed with the
opportunity to find a purpose and a passion. We
have the ability to find
out ‘why’.
All
we have to do is continuously consider the immensity and depth of
that which is happening all around us in each passing moment.
Breathe in and choose happiness. Most of your frustration in life comes from your misunderstanding of 'something more'.
Use
your brain and seek to gain knowledge about yourself and your
surroundings. The journey to God is a journey within.
We’ve
Only Just Begun.
